Recreating - illustrating memories of a missing image
is the result of an investigation of the master's project in Drawing and Printing Techniques of the School of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. The research focuses on the creative potential of the family album and the narrative memories it contains, in a process of illustration.
The project consists of four artist books, named "Entre Tempos". All books were developed from the relationship with a specific family album. This relationship is explored in their physical condition – with the use of their own photos – and as an emotional source of creation.
The books were produced with different techniques, in order to test the rhetorical dimension of each one in the illustration: takizuri, lumen print, rubbing, drawing, engraving and photography.
